Local pharmacies offer many of the same services that local GP's do and you don't need to make an appointment to see them.

All pharmacist have trained for five years and can offer expert advice on lots of minor ailments. Most pharmacies in Manchester offer confidential consultation rooms too. They can help with common problems such as coughs, colds, aches and pains, as well as performing health checks and screenings, treating minor injuries and infections and sometimes prescribing free medicine.

If they can't help, they'll tell you whether you need to see a doctor or where else you could get the best treatment. So, if you've got an illness, injury or condition and need help, visit your local pharmacy first…
